Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

In honor of the 25th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, here is an 1998 series of articles from the Seattle Times detailing the community life along five streets named after Dr. King in Seattle, Washington, Little Rock, Arkansas, Selma, Alabama, Phoenix, New Mexico, and Denver, Colorado.

In 2006 there were at least 730 streets in 39 states named after Dr. King, as well as many in other countries. It's amazing to think of the impact that that has had on our urban fabric.

From a community development perspective, many cities are also organizing community parades or volunteer days in the spirit of Dr. King. What is your city doing today?
